This recipe is a paper version.
The Hazel Sweater is knitted from the top down in ribbing. First, knit the back with increases. Next, knit the shoulders, shaping them with decreases. The shoulders are joined to form the front piece, after which the front and back are joined to form the body. The body is first knitted in the round and then divided into a front and back piece, creating a long side slit. The slit begins at approximately the same height as the hip bone. The sleeves are shaped with turning rows before being knitted in the round in ribbing. The turtleneck is knitted last in ribbing. The pattern also includes instructions for knitting a short version without a slit (the yarn requirements for the long version with a slit are listed on the front of the pattern).
As you knit the sweater, it will tend to fold in on itself. This will even out after washing and blocking. When measuring as you go, you should unfold your work to ensure the correct gauge.
Size Guide
The Hazel Sweater should have apositive ease ofapproximately 16–24 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XS (S), M (L), XL (2XL), 3XL (4XL), and 5XL correspond to a bust measurement taken on your own body of 80–85 (85–90) 90–95 (95–100) 100–110 (110–120) 120–130 (130–140) 140–150 cm, respectively. The measurements of the finished sweater are listed on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine which size will fit you best. For example, if your bust measurement (or the widest part of your body) is 90 cm, you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a chest width of 108 cm and, in this example, will provide 18 cm ofpositive ease.
