Sock yarn

Yarn for home knitted socks

Here you'll find a great selection of sock yarn for your home-knitted socks.

Sock yarn is available in many different qualities, both solid colored, with tweed stripes or self-striping.

And of course, you'll also find beautiful hand-dyed sock yarn.

What is the difference between sock yarn and wool yarn?

You can knit socks in many different types of yarn.

However, for best results, choose a sock yarn that contains fibers that reinforce the yarn. This is often nylon, but can also be plant fibers such as nettle (used in Wild Wool).

If you don't use a reinforced sock yarn, your socks won't last as long, as they will wear out faster.

Sock yarn - different materials

You'll find sock yarn containing merino, sheep wool, silk and mohair. And as reinforcing fibers you'll find: nylon, silk and nettle fibers.
