Tweedy is a beautiful yarn from Hedgehog Fibres, known for their very colorful hand-dyed yarns.
Precisely because they hand-dye, each skein of yarn has a little thread (sliver) that is used to hold the yarn in place during dyeing. These bands are removed after dyeing and Hedgehog Fibres has been saving them for a long time. Now they're being used for something amazing: they're being re-mapped and spun into new yarn. The result is Tweedy, which gives the yarn a subtle play of small flecks in all sorts of colors.
You can use Tweedy on its own to achieve a beautiful tweed effect with small splashes of color. Of course, Tweedy is also suitable for use with mohair as a companion yarn to create your very own "blend".
